Nothing Exciting

Well I decided that I'd post an update on my blog since I haven't updated in a while. Nothing new is going on here, it's Rangers baseball season so that's what my life is based around! :) Either going to games (we have 1/2 season tickets) or watching them on TV.

I haven't been able to do any scrapping lately because we've been so busy! I am hoping to get a little bit in this upcoming long holiday weekend! We'll see if that happens!

I'm so super duper sad, one of my scrapbook forums www.scrapchicks.com is closing down :( I'm going to miss the daily chats with my chicks and the AWESOME inspiration around there, but I'm going to keep in touch with all of them either thru facebook or my other forums (Sassy Lil Sketches) but it's still sad to see a place that I called home go. Shannon (the owner) is a really good family friend of mine and she's moving onto bigger and better, she's going into newborn photography so we all wish her the best of luck!! Love you momma chick!!

10 on 10

 I've heard about this project from a few of my friends and was going to give it a try last month and completely forgot about it :( so when I was at my retreat this past weekend one of my girlfriends mentioned "Hey tuesday is the next 10 on 10, you gonna do it?" so I set a reminder in my cell phone to participate this month!

 11am: Working on some miscellaneous invoicing for work

 12pm: Having me some lunch. Spicy chicken nuggets and a DP! :)

 1pm: Sorting thru my blog reader trying to catch up ... I swear I do work!

 2pm: We're doing spring cleaning in the offices today, so my duty was to mop, JOY!

 3pm: Catching up on some work emails, ick!

 4pm: Leaving work to head home! YAY, thank goodness the work day is OVER!

 5pm: Stopped by the mailbox to check the mail on my way home

6pm: Sitting down for dinner ... mmm Frenchbread pizza & hawaiian punch! :)

7pm: Enjoying some frozen yogurt and some Rangers baseball! :) I'm a happy gal

Sketchy Thursday

As part of the National Scrapbook Day crop over at ScrapChicks we had to take a 1 page sketch and stretch it to a 2 page layout or a 2 page sketch and make into a 1 page layout. So I used this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch and turned it into a 2 page layout!

National Scrapbook Day Crop!

This last Saturday was National Scrapbook Day and over at ScrapChicks we had an all weekend long crop with a TON of challenges and awesome prizes up for grabs!

I was lucky enough to be at a crop all weekend long so I had a TON of time to scrap! I got 6 layouts done and 2 cards!! SO FUN!!

The Crop Challenge #1 - Add it Up was to create a layout in which you use the number of photo's you used in the layout for the title. I used 3 pictures so I used the title 1,2,3 Chug. Here is my layout ...

Challenge #2 - Derby Pie was to use the colors brown, tan, yellow & a splash of green. So I made this card for my Grandma for mother's day

Challenge #3 - Simply Grid It was to create a layout using a grid. Here is my layout ...

Challenge #4 - Summer Colors, the challenge was to use 3 of the 6 colors in a card or layout, here are the colors we had to choose from

Challenge #5 - Stretch a Sketch was to take either a 1 page sketch and turn it into a 2 page layout or take a 2 page layout and turn it into a 1 page sketch. I took this 1 page sketch from SketchyThursday and turned it into a 2 page layout, here is the sketch I used ...

Challenge #7 - Learn Something New was to learn and do a new technique. Something that I'd never done before and have been VERY intimidated by and too scared to try was to mist. At the crop Monica (one of my scrap idol's) was there and convinced me to mist. She showed me how to do it and I DID IT!! I think she might even have created a monster! :) Here is my misted layout!!

Challenge #10 - Movie Poster Inspiration was to take a movie poster and use it for inspiration. This is the movie poster that I used for my inspiration ...

and here is the layout! I took inspiration from where the people were standing and used my photo's there and then did the journaling where the movie credits were. I loved this challenge!

Ignore the bad photo, the colors are WAY off, it's not orange they are supposed to be red. Here is my layout
