Sketch #7

Last weeks Hot Summer Nights Challenge was in 2 parts. You had the sketch and then you had 4 "must-haves" that you had to include. SUPER fun!! Can't wait for this weeks challenge, come play along at Scrap Chicks!

Here is the sketch:

And the 4 Must-Have's:
MUST HAVE #1: Take this sketch and flip it around or turn it on it's side!
Must Have #2: Either distress the circles OR the rectangles, but NOT both.
Must Have #3: Use at least two different colors--ink, mist or paint.
Must Have #4: Your title must be different fonts and and at least 2 different colors.

And here is my layout!

July Hen Party Friday's

This month was a month chalked FULL of fun challenges over at Scrap Chicks. I got 2 cards and 2 layouts made!!

7.1 Challenge - Red, White & Blue
(In honor of the 4th of July I challenge you to create a project/card/layout using Red, White and Blue as the main colors. It doesn't have to be Independence Day themed, but I would like to see at least 1 star included)

Here is what I came up with ...

7.8 Challenge - Tool Time
(For today's challenge it is time to wipe the dust off those tools we never use!! Yeah get out your sizzix, cuttlebug, cricut, crop-a-dile, xyron and whatever you might have and use it to create a LO, card or altered art!)

I used my Cricut (for the letters that I misted over), I used my cuttlebug to emboss, I used my new sewing machine, my corner rounder and my distresser

7.15 Challenge - I love your Shoes!
(This week's challenge is to take a pair of shoes/sandals/boots and use that as your inspiration for a layout/card/project. Please post a photo of the shoes as well.)

Here is my pair of shoes that I used for inspiration

And the card that I made ...

7.22 Challenge - Lazy Days of Summer
(I want to see a LO with a photo of someone SLEEPING! See if you can find one of those great photo's of someone sleeping in a odd place or odd position! )

Here is the layout I did of me and Tucker sleeping

I had SOOO much fun with this weeks sketch over at ScrapChicks for the Hot Summer Nights Challenge. I had less time than was given to us for this one because I waited until the last min. to pick pictures out and print them hahaha! But with the time that I was allowed I think I rocked this!

Here is the sketch ...

And here is what I did with it, I turned it on it's side! :)

We had 2 hours to do this one and it took me almost the whole time because I was cooking and eating dinner right in the middle of it! I had a little bit of trouble with this sketch and I'm not sure of how it turned out, it just feels like it's missing something, but here it is!

Sketchy Thursday

As part of the National Scrapbook Day crop over at ScrapChicks we had to take a 1 page sketch and stretch it to a 2 page layout or a 2 page sketch and make into a 1 page layout. So I used this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch and turned it into a 2 page layout!

Here is the sketch ...

and here is my layout ...

National Scrapbook Day Crop!

This last Saturday was National Scrapbook Day and over at ScrapChicks we had an all weekend long crop with a TON of challenges and awesome prizes up for grabs!

I was lucky enough to be at a crop all weekend long so I had a TON of time to scrap! I got 6 layouts done and 2 cards!! SO FUN!!

The Crop Challenge #1 - Add it Up was to create a layout in which you use the number of photo's you used in the layout for the title. I used 3 pictures so I used the title 1,2,3 Chug. Here is my layout ...

Challenge #2 - Derby Pie was to use the colors brown, tan, yellow & a splash of green. So I made this card for my Grandma for mother's day

Challenge #3 - Simply Grid It was to create a layout using a grid. Here is my layout ...

Challenge #4 - Summer Colors, the challenge was to use 3 of the 6 colors in a card or layout, here are the colors we had to choose from

Here is the card I made with it ...

Challenge #5 - Stretch a Sketch was to take either a 1 page sketch and turn it into a 2 page layout or take a 2 page layout and turn it into a 1 page sketch. I took this 1 page sketch from SketchyThursday and turned it into a 2 page layout, here is the sketch I used ...

and here is the 2 page layout I did with it ...

Challenge #7 - Learn Something New was to learn and do a new technique. Something that I'd never done before and have been VERY intimidated by and too scared to try was to mist. At the crop Monica (one of my scrap idol's) was there and convinced me to mist. She showed me how to do it and I DID IT!! I think she might even have created a monster! :) Here is my misted layout!!

Challenge #10 - Movie Poster Inspiration was to take a movie poster and use it for inspiration. This is the movie poster that I used for my inspiration ...

and here is the layout! I took inspiration from where the people were standing and used my photo's there and then did the journaling where the movie credits were. I loved this challenge!

Ignore the bad photo, the colors are WAY off, it's not orange they are supposed to be red. Here is my layout

2.7 Hen Party Challenge - Recipe for Love

This week's Hen Party Challenge over at ScrapChicks was a recipe challenge. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
*3 heaping cups of friendship (3 patterned papers)
*1 Tbsp. compassion (solid cardstock background)
*2 tsp. kindness (2 ribbons/trims)
*5 hugs (5 buttons)
*3 kisses (3 brads)

Directions
Stir together with happiness (stitching or doodling), humor (journaling), and patience (white space).
Serve with love (use the word LOVE in your title).

Here is the sample LO from Shannon (Mother Hen Chickie)

and here is my LO

ok yeah so there isn't THAT much white space (I couldn't do it, it terrifies me) and the background paper isn't ONLY kraft but it's good enough. So I was having a bad cooking day haha

Come play along, if you do all 4 challenges for the month you get a golden egg like this ...

I also did this LO based off of this months SketchyThursday reveal. You should come play along there too, there are some awesome prizes up for grabs!!! I also used this LO as inspiration ...
